Vishuddha or Bharatisthana, abode of the Devi of speech, is a lotus of sixteen petals which carry the vowels – “aṃ” “āṃ” “iṃ” “īṃ” “uṃ” “ūṃ” “rm” “ṛṃ” “lṃ” “lm” “eṃ” “aiṃ” “oṃ” “auṃ” “aṃ” “ah”. It contains a downward pointing triangle, within which, is a white circular region like that of the full moon containing the bija “ham”.
