At the top of the yoga mat is the Sanskrit symbol for the sound mantra "OM". On the sides is an affirmation for the Heart Chakra, "I Am Worthy of Love". In the middle of the mat is a depiction of Anāhata, the Heart Chakra, which is a lotus of twelve petals in the region of the heart. A triangular mandala within the lotus is known as the Tri-kona S’ati. Here, also, is the Sanskrit symbol for the sound mantra of air (vāyu) or “YAM”. YAM is a one-syllable sound known as a bija, or “seed” mantra. YAM is the chant sound (mantra) for the Anahata (heart) Chakra. It brings about peace, contentment, joy, love and compassion for yourself and those around you.
